Safe Environment Program
All adults that are involved in programs with youth or vulnerable adults are required to meet the diocesan Safe Environment requirements. The Sacred Heart Youth Ministry program typically requires any adults that would like to help with the program to complete the three requirements below.
It is a great privilage to work with youth and in order to protect our youth and keep them safe, these procedures have been put in to place. No adult will be allowed to help with a youth event until all three requirements have been met.
If you are interested in helping, you can begin these at any time. Go to http://safeandsacred-sfcatholic.org .
Step One
- Background Check (Sacred Heart Volunteers)
- Background Check (SEARCH Volunteers)
Please print, fill out, and turn in the form above. Background checks are done every six years.
Step Two
These are good forever. Please read to policy, fill out page 12 and turn it in.
Step Three
This link will lead you to the diocesan website to complete an online training course .
There are currently three courses. Each year, volunteers must complete the next course. So if this is your first time, complete Course One. If you have done the training online before, find your username and password and complete the next course on the list. Those working with vulnerable adults must complete the training specifically for vulnerable adults.
For the Safe Environment Training, fill out the information and Sign up as a volunteer for Sacred Heart Parish. If you have done SE Training before, you can pull a certificate from the site. The youth ministry program is requiring all training to be done online, unless written proof of the class is sent to Eric at Sacred Heart. The online training is easiest to track for the parish.
Please contact Michele Coughlin at mcoughlin@parishmail.com if you have any questions.
